1. The first and main problem in all situations of conflict is a breakdown in communication. This leads to “trench warfare” where both parties are locked into wanting a particular outcome and those “wants” do not coincide. We help you break that deadlock by restoring communication to a level that allows you both to understand the real issues.
  2. The second problem is that most people don’t know what the relevant law is for couples who have separated and who are looking to make arrangements for their children and/or to distribute their property. We provide you with the relevant legal principles that would be applied by a Court in determining those issues.
  3. The third problem is that although most people know what they want, that is not always achievable and sometimes expectations need to be modified. We help to overcome that by telling you what the principles are that determine what you can have and what you what you will have to do to get it.
  4. A fourth problem a lot of people encounter is, that once they have reached agreement, he or she does not have sufficient information to finalise that agreement. We help you to finalise the documentation that you will need to record those arrangements and agreements. We can, if you wish, do so  at a  fixed fee. Fixed fees are by negotiation.
